Scene of the murder of Police Constable Bernard Snowdon, Winnipeg, Manitoba. |
Snowdon was the first member of the Winnipeg Police Department to be murdered on duty. He was shot in the back while patrolling Main Street. He was found in the rear of Rosenblatt's Store. The bullet entered his shoulder and down through the right side of his heart, killing him instantly. Three men were charged with murder; two of them were hanged, the third man was sentenced to life imprisonment. |
